Long-time NFL QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has decided to hang up his cleats after 17 seasons. Reports say he told former teammates on Thursday that he has decided to retire from the NFL.
Fitzpatrick was a 7th-round pick out of the University of Harvard. He was selected in the 5th round of the NFL Draft by the St.Louis Rams. Fitzpatrick was known as a “journey-man” quarterback playing for many teams across the league.
During his career, Fitzpatrick completed 60.7% of his passes for 34,990 yards and 223 touchdowns. A very good career for a quarterback selected in the seventh round. Fitzpatrick made starts for nine different NFL teams and has broken records with several of them.
Happy retirement to Fitzmagic, a man that truly beat the odds as a seventh-round pick. Thank you for the memories and magical moments.
Enjoy retirement.
