“No momentum exists between Cowboys and ex-Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner in free agency, source said. DC Dan Quinn and Wagner, who is operating as own agent, been in contact. Strong relationship and belief there. But a 2022 reunion is considered “unlikely” and “long shot” from start.”

It appears the Cowboys are not expected to be players in the Bobby Wagner market. His strong relationship with Dan Quinn was what initially connected him to the Cowboys, but it looks like a reunion is not likely.

I’ve wanted the Cowboys to sign Bobby Wagner since his release from the Seahawks just a few weeks ago. It would benefit the defense and this team to have a veteran presence at the position. With that being said, I would have a hard time paying a 32-year-old linebacker $15 million per year, which is what Wagner will draw from another team. Wagner is not the player he was during the “Legion of Boom” years and is on the backside of his career as an elite player.
Unless things change, it’s unlikely Wagner will be a Dallas Cowboy.
